CHEM 1331 - Chemical Structures and Properties (4 Cr.) Physical Sciences
Course description
This course focuses on the study of the electronic, atomic and molecular structure of matter. Topics include: Atomic composition and mass spectrometry, theory of light, electronic structure and atomic spectroscopy, periodic table, covalent bond and molecular structure, organic functional groups and infrared spectroscopy, conformational analysis and H-NMR, intermolecular forces and phase change, solutions and solubility. Spectroscopic techniques are presented from the beginning as tools for evidence and analysis of atomic and molecular structure and composition.
